Guided Flow Class
A Guided Flow class is both energizing as well as calming. It is fully guided in that I give verbal cues (along with physical demonstration) throughout the entire class - there is no "flow on your own" time. We start with smaller, subtler movements of the body, then build heat through a series of warm up flows. We then go deeper with longer holding poses that emphasize strength and balance. Towards the end of class we take our practice to the mat for calmer, more meditative (yin-like) postures. It will be a mind-body experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and more open!
Mysore-Style is a self-led asana (posture) practice with the guidance and support of the teacher. All levels of experience are welcome. No prior knowledge of Ashtanga is necessary. Students newer to the practice can expect to spend 45-60 minutes at class. This practice both challenges and nurtures! Modifications of postures are offered. In this class your individual needs as a student are addressed, yet you can also benefit from practicing in a group setting.
Yin is a slow-paced, meditative, and deeply calming style of yoga. It is a mostly seated practice in which you hold the poses for longer than what you find in a typical class - anywhere from 1 to 3 to 5 minutes. Yin Yoga addresses the connective tissue of the body and can help increase flexibility and mobility. The Yin practice is challenging in its own quiet way, and taps into the mind-body connection offering stress release both physically and mentally. Bring your props (blankets, pillows, blocks) and experience a yin class for yourself!
Short Form Ashtanga
Short Form Ashtanga is a fully guided class that works through parts of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. There will be standing poses, balancing, poses, and seated work. No music - just the rhythm of the breath as a guide. Beautiful, focused, inward practice.
